Grace H Smith 86 of Weymouth, MA died at home on October 29th 2020 after a long illness.
Grace was born April 1, 1934 in Middleborough, MA. She was the second daughter of the late Percy Bryant and the late Helen (Haight) Bryant. She was the sister to the late Catherine Britto.
Grace graduated from Bridgewater Raynham High School in 1951.
Grace lived a great life. Her school friends and she drove to Florida and flew to Cuba in the early 1950’s. She worked as an office manager for many years. She was the Auxiliary Regional President for the Fleet Reserve Association from 1998-1999. She was part of the Red Hat Society, the Friendship Club. She enjoyed spending time with her kids and grandkids.
She was the wife of the late Rex Smith and the late Donald Thompson. She is survived by Her daughter Hope Sproul and her husband Russell E Sproul Jr. of East Bridgewater, Mass and their kids Russell Sproul 3rd, Justin Sproul and Renee Sproul. Her daughter Debra Zubrick and her husband Marion Zubrick of Alabama. Fran Sten and her husband Rick Sten and their kids Paul Sten and Scott Sten of Mass. Her daughter Joyce Potvin and her husband Dennis Potvin of Alabama, and their son Dennis Potvin Jr. of New York. Her nieces Micalia Britto of Mass, and Terri Shaw of Florida. Her nephews Dave Shaw and his wife Terry Shaw of South Carolina, Brian Shaw of Kentucky, Larry and his wife Debbie Shaw Virginia. She is also survived by 2 great grandchildren and many great nieces and nephews as well as cousins and friends.
Services will be held at Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street, Whitman MA 02382 on November 12. Wake will be from 9-10 AM and open to the public. The service will be private for family only.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Old Colony Hospice and Palliative Care, and the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
