Obituary

Helen “Edna” Kenney (Meads), 96 of Whitman, formerly of Randolph and Dorchester, passed away on Friday, October 30, 2020 surrounded by her family after a brief period of failing health.

Born and raised in East Boston, she was the daughter of the late John Meads and Helen (Southard).

Helen lived a full life as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. She had a warm, friendly personality and always made the people around her laugh. She shared a passion for food, especially her love for baking. She was always baking desserts and treats, and found enjoyment feeding her family and friends. She was proud of her family and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed watching the Boston Bruins, Red Sox and was also a season ticket holder for the Patriots for many years.

Helen was the beloved wife for 72 years of the late George J. Kenney. She was the loving mother of Maureen Mauriello and her husband Joseph of Kingston, Janis DeChellis and her husband Paul of Whitman, Judith Elson and her late husband Paul of Brockton, Joan Crowell and her husband Kenneth of West Bridgewater, Nancy Gugliotta and her husband Donald of Falmouth, Georganne Sullivan and her husband Michael of Bridgewater, Denise Nagle and her husband Gary of Walpole.

Loving “Nana” of Susan (DeChellis) Bina and Joshua Pierron, Laura (DeChellis) Baker and her husband Ryan, Jennifer (DeChellis) Derby and her husband Nathan, Paul Elson and his wife Kate, Cynthia (Elson) Nardulli her husband John, the late Michael Crowell and his wife Diane, Stacey (Crowell) Paretchan and her husband Matthew, Brian Crowell and Jeanine Bresett, Christopher Gugliotta and his wife Amanda, Katie Gugliotta, Jessica Sullivan and Christopher Cream, and Michael Sullivan. Loving GreatGrandmother of Matthew, Kelly, and Shannon Nagle, Joseph, Kyle and Riley Bina, Lexi and Lily Baker, Ella, Morgan and Samantha Derby, Claire, Mary and Erik Elson, Viviana, Dominic and Carina Nardulli, Madison and Zachary Paretchan, Liam Crowell and Anthony Gugliotta. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

Visitation will be at the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ rotary) Whitman on Sunday, November 8 from 2pm-4pm. All other services are private.
