Obituary

Eleanor Ann (Kobbs) Hadley 80, of Franklin, died peacefully at her home on Saturday, October 31, 2020. She was the beloved wife of the late Arthur M. Hadley.

Born July 6, 1940 in Boston, MA, a daughter of the late Joseph and Henrietta M. (Coughlin) Kobbs, she was a longtime Franklin resident.

She was the devoted mother of Karen A. Hadley-Nawrocki of Bellingham and Lisa M. Hadley of Franklin. She was the cherished grandmother of Nicole (Herrick) Varadian of Norwood, Mitchell Herrick of Franklin and Kathleen (Herrick) Petrie of Bellingham. She is survived by a brother Joseph A. Kobbs of Randolph, VT and two sisters, Joan M. Ruane of Northbridge and Karen K. Toomey of Stoneham. Also surviving are four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She loved her work at the MCI Framingham and all the women that she helped through her many years of volunteering. She enjoyed great peace, relaxation and years of memories at her family home in Maine. She was an avid reader, writer and lover of music and dancing. She was known for her great sense of humor, quick wit and practical joking as well as her love for a good action thriller movie. She was happiest spending time with her family and friends and inspired many with her wise words and strong faith.

Due to COVID-19, Eleanor's service will be held privately.
