TEWKSBURY: Frank L. Procopio, age 90, a resident of Tewksbury for the past 22 years, passed away at the Lahey Hospital & Medical Center in Burlington on Friday, October 30, 2020.
He was the beloved husband of Natalie M. (Chiccarelli) Procopio, with whom he celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary on September 27, 2020.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Maria L. Cutelis and her husband James of Tewksbury, and Donna M. Ferris and her husband Scott of Auburn; six grandchildren, Kayla Salah and her husband Thomas, Kelsey Kelich and her husband Pete, Frankie McLaughlin and his girlfriend Alexis Chaet, Timothy, Lauren, and Jessica Ferris; his former son-in-law, Frank McLaughlin of Pepperell; and two siblings, Larry Procopio of CT, and Rita Bain of Newburyport, MA.
Born in Somerville on January 20, 1930, he was the son of the late Frank D. Procopio and the late Sarah (Sacco) Procopio.
Frank was raised in Cambridge and attended Cambridge schools.
In 1948, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served during the Korean War.
Following his honorable discharge from active duty, he received training and certification in the field of aircraft engine repair and maintenance.
Prior to his retirement in 1994, Frank worked as an Airplane Mechanic for United Airlines for over 35 years.
Frank resided in Arlington until moving to Tewksbury in 1998. He was a former member of the Arlington Sons of Italy.
He enjoyed attending his daughter’s and grandchildren’s athletic events and dance recitals, dining out, vacationing with his family, and playing cards at the Tewksbury Senior Center. In addition, he was an avid New England Patriots, Boston Celtics, and Boston Red Sox fan.
Calling hours in adherence to State Covid-19 guidelines will be held Wednesday, November 4, from 4-6 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. His funeral procession will begin on Thursday, November 5, at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. at St. William’s Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Interment at St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury. Masks/ face covering, and social distancing required at all venues. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Tewksbury Community Food Pantry, 999 Whipple Road, Tewksbury, MA 01876.
