Bill Edwards left to be with our lord on October 26, 2020 at the age of 80. He was happily married to the love of his life the late Annie Lucy Edwards for 58 years. He was born and raised in Ramer Montgomery Alabama the son of the late Bill Edwards and Mabel Banks. Bill lost his dad at an early age due to a farming accident while working.
Bill worked in the Logging wood Industry in Alabama and became one of the first black men in Alabama to own his own Logging wood Company. He was a hard worker and put the (H) in Hustle in anything that he did. His company was very successful allowing him to support his entire family and friends. When the Logging wood industry started to slowly go away he eventually moved his family to Boston Mass. where two of his brothers (Jake) and (John) had established themselves in the city workforce.
He lived in Boston for over 50 years. Bill worked at Boston City Hospital for a number of years. The three brothers had always been very close growing up in Alabama. That did not change when they all reunited in Boston. The three brothers united were a force to recon with, just ask anyone that knew them. He again decided to start his own business a Self-Employed scrap metal and disposal Company until his final days.
Bill loved his Cadillac cars, pickup trucks, wearing stylish clothes, watching old western movies and snacking with his late wife (Annie) in their home. One of his favorite snacks was cheese and crackers and he loved bubble gum. He would always offer his grandkids bubble gum whenever they visited. Bill was loved by his family and everyone in the community because of his friendly personality and his famous quote (Hey Sugar). He could not remember your name so he called everyone (Hey Sugar). People in the neighborhood gave him the nick name little Bill.
He was the father of Willie Edwards, James Edwards (Wife Stacie Angela Edwards), Jerome Edwards (Wife Sonia Marie Edwards), Annie Ruthie Edwards, Fredrick Edwards, Eugene Samuel, William Samuel, Billy Edwards and the late Terry Edwards. Bill was the Grandfather of Jerome Anthony, William Tyler, Jennifer Marie, Levi, Noah, Joshua, Kylee and Jacob.
Bill is the brother of Jake (Wife Betty), John (Wife Jackie), Leon, Sheryl, Gloria and the late Faye, Late Mary and Late Sylvester. He leaves behind a long Legacy of family members that will always love him and keep him in their thoughts and prayers.
