William J. Wilkinson, Jr.
Retired Tewksbury Water Department Superintendent
TEWKSBURY: William J. “Bill” Wilkinson, Jr. age 74, a resident of Tewksbury for over 60 years, passed away at the High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill on Thursday, October 29, 2020.
He was the beloved and devoted husband of Cheryl A. (Mulcahy) Wilkinson, who passed away on January 5, 2019.
Born in Methuen on July 27, 1946, he was the son of the late William J. Wilkinson, Sr. and the late Dorothy (Pica) Wilkinson.
Bill was raised in Tewksbury and attended Tewksbury Schools.
Following his high school years, Bill began working for the Town of Tewksbury. In 1977, he was appointed to the position of Superintendent of the Tewksbury Water Department. Bill held that position until his retirement in 2006.
When he wasn’t working, Bill enjoyed fishing, playing a scratch ticket or two, following the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots, spending time up Steve’s on Ayer’s Lake in Barrington, NH and the companionship of his dog “Rascal”.
Bill is survived by his children, William J. Wilkinson, III and his wife Sherri of Gofftstown, NH, Wayne R. Wilkinson and his partner Kara of Groton, Brian A. Wilkinson and his fiancée Sylvia of Hudson, NH, Brenda F. Devlin of Tewksbury, and Jeffrey K. Wilkinson and his wife Amanda of Dallas, Georgia. He also leaves numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends.
Bill was also pre-deceased by his sister, Diane R. Valcourt.

SERVICE DATE AND TIME WILL BE ANNOUNCED WHEN AVAILABLE.
