TEWKSBURY - Eileen M. (Cadigan) McGlinchey, age 60, a resident of Tewksbury for the last
four decades, died Tuesday, Mar. 7, at her home following a lengthy illness, surrounded by her
family.
She was born in Charlestown, July 23, 1945 a daughter of the late Timothy and Josephine
(Shannahan) Cadigan. She was raised in Charlestown, but had lived in Tewksbury since 1972.
She was a communicant of St. William’s Church in Tewksbury.
She is survived by a daughter, Sherry McGlinchey and her fiancé, Gerry Gannon of Tewksbury;
four grandchildren, Brendan, Tyler, Cameron, and Alysa; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Ann
Richards and her husband Al of Tewksbury, Maureen Francis and her husband Phil of Tewksbury,
Joan Ryan and her husband James of Billerica; a brother, Timothy Cadigan of Wilmington; her
former husband, James L. McGlinchey Sr. of Tewksbury; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also mother of the late James L. McGlinchey Jr., who died on June 17, 2005.
Her
Funeral Mass was held Friday, Mar. 10, in St. William’s Church, Tewksbury.
Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery, No. Tewksbury. Memorials to the Greater Lowell VNA Hospice, P.O. Box 1965,
Lowell, MA 01853, will be appreciated.
