Rita Lynn Rayas, 64, of Port Hueneme, California passed away on October 20, 2020 in Oxnard, California at Dignity Health – St. John’s Regional Medical Center. Rita was born in Ventura, California to Leonard and Beatrice Griego on March 8, 1956. She graduated high school at Channel Islands in 1974. She went on to a career in banking for 36 years.
Rita was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She had a vivacious personality and always made people around her laugh. She made friends everywhere she went and her customers at the various banks she worked at loved her as well.
Rita also enjoyed volunteering for various projects, Bunko, Tripoli, walking on the beach and spiritual practices/gatherings.
She is the loving and devoted mother of Yvette M. Rayas and Edward L. Rayas. Adored grandmother of Max and Olga Rayas. Loving daughter of the late Leonard A. Griego and surviving Beatrice Griego. Dear sister of Lenor Augelli, Leonard J. Griego, Michelle Roulston and husband Eric, Alan Griego, Della Ramos, and Julian Rodriguez. Also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Due to the pandemic, there will be no service for Rita at this time. Family and close friends will be notified of future memorial plans.
