Richard E. Bancroft, 72, of Londonderry, NH died Monday October 19, 2020 at the Elliot Hospital, Manchester, NH. Surrounded by his loving family. Richard was born in Hyde Park, MA on December 14, 1947, a son of the late, Edwin and Mary (Powers) Bancroft. He served with the US Air Force during the Vietnam Era.
Rich was a motorcycle enthusiast, taking many road trips with his late son Brian. He was also a huge New England sports fan. He was also a longstanding member of Post # 0078 American Legion of Hyde Park, MA. Richard will always be remembered as the most loving husband, parent and “Papa”. He was Kathy’s “Gentle Giant” and was loved by all who came to know him.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen (Walsh) Bancroft of Londonderry, one son, Richard E. Bancroft, Jr. and his wife Allison of Foxborough, MA, one daughter, Christine Hubbard of Walpole, MA, 10 beautiful grandchildren, one brother, James Bancroft, and two sisters, Anne Huntley and Mary Barry. He was predeceased by his beloved son Brian W. Kelleher in 2018.
There are no services scheduled at this time. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium of Derry and Londonderry are assisting the family with arrangements.
