Obituary

Arthur R. "Pee Wee" Marchand, 77, died March 6,2006 at his home, surrounded by his family after a long courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

He was born in Manchester on December 1, 1928 to Alfred and Yvonne (Simoneau) Marchand. He attended St. Anthony's School and served in the United States Navy. Mr. Marchand worked in bread sales for several bakeries including Normand Bakery, Genest Bakery and Wonder bread until his retirement in 1990. He also worked in the x-ray department of the Elliot Hospital as an assistant.

Arthur's hobbies included playing cards and dominos, walking, bike riding and working in his yard. He was a member of the Good Sam Club and loved to travel. He and his wife shared many fond memories of traveling in their motor home throughout all of the 48 continental United States, Mexico and Canada, as well as visiting 13 European countries, Alaska and Hawaii. They considered themselves to be "Winter Texans" when in Harlingen, Texas. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.

Family members include his wife of 54 years, Irene G. (Proulx) Marchand of Manchester; 3 daughters, Patricia Cole of Goffstown, Elaine Douville of Manchester and Diane Dupont of Richmond, Texas; 5 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Julien "Skip" Marchand and Roland Marchand both of Manchester; 2 sisters, Cecile Bergeron and Lucille Morier both of Manchester; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Mass of Christian burial was held Thursday March 9, 2006 in the Parish of the Transfiguration, Kelley St. Manchester. Burial followed in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 474 Goffstown Rd. Manchester.
