Kenneth M. Futch, 71, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Sunday, October 18, 2020, at Navicent Health in Macon, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 4 PM, Wednesday, October 21, 2020, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Vernon Hughes, the Rev. Gary Mimbs, and the Rev. Charlie Solomon officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Fitzgerald. The family will receive friends from 5-7 on Tuesday evening under the breezeway at First Baptist Church. Due to COVID-19, friends are respectfully requested to wear face coverings and to observe social distancing.
Mr. Futch was born March 28, 1949, in Berrien County, Georgia, to the late T.J. & Gladys Nicholson Futch. He was a graduate of Berrien County High School and earned a two-year degree from Valdosta Technical College. His spent his career working as an automotive mechanic. He worked for Martin Motors in Nashville and Stone Motor Company and Pool Chevrolet in Fitzgerald. He opened Kenneth’s Auto Repair in 1987 and would own and operate his business until his retirement in 2011. He became a Mason in 1974 and was a member and Past Master of Pine Level Lodge #353 F.&A.M. Mr. Futch loved to fish and garden and was a devoted husband and father. He dearly loved his grandchildren and enjoyed playing with them. He was a member and Deacon of First Baptist Church of Fitzgerald.
He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Linda McEwen Futch of Fitzgerald; children and their spouses: Wayne Futch of Douglas, Tim & Ann Futch of Sandy Springs, and Gina & Lee Clark of Social Circle; grandchildren: Austin Futch, Emma Futch, Jett Futch, Johnny Futch, Tripp Clark and Elizabeth Claire Clark who is due to arrive soon; brothers and sisters: Weymon & Mary Futch of Louisiana, T.J. Futch, Jr. & Sarah of Nashville, Geneva & Scott Bailey of West Virginia, Edward & Linda Futch of Louisiana, and Anelda Guest of Douglasville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Rachel Stripling.
