Rita Lillian (Croteau) St. Germain, 93, a longtime resident of Andover and Lawrence, passed peacefully at home following a long battle with dementia. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 69 years, Raymond H. St. Germain.
Rita started work at a young age as a bobbin shop “Mill Girl” in the Arlington Mills and was a nanny/housekeeper for many years. Rita retired as a “Cafeteria Lady” having worked in many schools in the Andover area. Above all in her life, Rita loved being a wife, mother and grandmother. She will be dearly missed.
Rita was the loving daughter of the late William Croteau and Marie Jeanne (Rioux) Croteau. She is survived by her sister; Theresa Bailey of Vero Beach, Florida, loving children; Denice St. Germain of Norton, Donna Mason and her husband Shawn of Lawrence, Raymond St. Germain of Rehoboth and Ted and Ann-Marie St. Germain, of Newton, New Hampshire, cherished grandchildren; Leah Geraci of Andover, Christine Banning of Princeton, Cynthia Ravinski of Portland Maine, Paul Ravinski of Kapolei Hawaii, Megan St. Germain of Newton, New Hampshire, Joshua St. Germain of Oakland California, her 3 great-grandchildren; A.J., Mason, and Benjamin, along with many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her siblings; Rose Bernard, William Croteau, Jr. and Phillipe Croteau.
Services will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Merrimac Valley Hospice, 360 Merrimack Street, Lawrence, MA 01843. would be appreciated.
