Niketas Giokas, age 98, passed away on Friday Oct. 16, 2020 at Baystate Medical Center. Niketas was born on October 12, 1922 in Chicopee MA, the son of the late Louis and Haralambo (Gregoropoulos) Giokas. Niketas proudly served his country in World War II while stationed in France. After the war, the Army veteran returned to Chicopee where he worked as a foreman for Uniroyal for over 30 years before he retired. He is predeceased by his wife of 67 years, Helen (Salamendras) Giokas, who passed away in 2015. Niketas is survived by his daughter Angeline Poulis and her husband Kostas of Chicopee MA; son Louis Giokas and wife Cynthia of Wesley Chapel FL; 3 beloved grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. All services will be private. The Grise Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
