TEWKSBURY – Mrs. Doreen Marie (Thormahlen) Blaikie, age 63, a former resident of Charlestown, died peacefully on Tuesday morning, October 13, 2020, at Lahey Medical Center in Burlington, after a long and courageous battle with Cancer. She was the beloved wife of Richard P. Blaikie Sr., with whom she would have celebrated a forty-fourth wedding anniversary this October 29th.
She was born in Somerville, one of two daughters of the late George and Ann (DelDotto) Thormahlen, and lived in Charlestown until moving to Tewksbury in 2000. She graduated from Charlestown High School, and earned a Bachelorette Degree in Early Education from U-Mass Amherst. She taught pre-school at the J.F.K. Family Service Center in Charlestown for the past thirty-one years.
Besides her husband, she leaves a daughter Jacqueline A. Blaikie of Tewksbury; a son, Richard P. Blaikie Jr. of Tewksbury; two beloved granddaughters, Courtney and Kayla Gittens of Tewksbury; a sister, MaryAnn Whitney and her husband Harvey of Medford; and several nieces and nephews.
