Giuseppe Nicola Masciarelli passed away peacefully at home on Friday night October 9. He was 87. Giuseppe was born and raised in San Martino sulla Marrucina, Abruzzo, Italy, the son of the late Giovanni and Rosina (Micozzi) Masciarelli.
Giuseppe lived in Argentina as a young man where he met and married his wife, Mafalda, nearly 63 years ago. They moved to Italy and then to the United States, first living in Boston’s North End and then later settling in Medford.
Giuseppe was a decent and hard-working man. He founded and operated his own construction firm, Nick Construction Company. Taking on any type of project, commercial or residential, his company earned a reputation over 30 years for high quality and dependable work. His most noted projects where Stadium Auto Body and Scrub-a-Dub Car Washes.
Forever devoted to his wife, Giuseppe enjoyed travelling with Mafalda, spending time with family and friends and also hunting every autumn.
The beloved husband of Mafalda (Morales) Masciarelli, Giuseppe was the devoted brother of Rocco Masciarelli and his wife Lina of Medford. He was a loving uncle of Rosanna Masciarelli of Medford, Pina Masciarelli-Patel of Wakefield, Marina Tramontozzi of North Reading, Lisa De Vito of Newton, John Masciarelli of Reading, and Daiena Nardi of Brooklyn, NY and their spouses. He is also lovingly survived by 18 great-nieces and nephews.
Giuseppe’s funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Saturday, October 17 at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in the Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant Street, Malden, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family Friday 4-8 PM. Services will conclude with entombment at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, Malden.
