James R. McCrimmon “Pops”, 74, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Monday, October 12, 2020 at his sister’s residence in Irwin County, Georgia.
Graveside services will be held 11 AM, Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald Georgia, with the Rev. Ronald Parks officiating. Nellie Lott will deliver the eulogy. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, from 5 PM until 8 PM, at the Paulk Funeral Home, in Fitzgerald.
Mr. McCrimmon was born February 16, 1946, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, to the late William Thomas & Nellie Raby McCrimmon. Mr. McCrimmon worked for Tolleson Lumber Company, Phillip 66 and Hallmark, until he retired. He was a lover of God, animals and his family. He fed more people at the Chicken Coop than you can count and would give his last dime to someone else. Mr. McCrimmon was a member of Anderson Memorial Baptist Church.
He is survived by his children: James Ronald McCrimmon, Jr. of Fitzgerald, Mike Anthony McCrimmon of Fitzgerald, William Ronald McCrimmon of Palatka, Florida, Samantha Jane Young of Fitzgerald and Virginia Frances McCrimmon of Palatka, Florida; grandchildren: Cade Paulk, Jaimi Barnes, Gloria McCrimmon, Hunter McCrimmon, Khloe McCrimmon, Mike McCrimmon, Shawn Staton, Nicholas Staton, Christopher McCrimmon, William McCrimmon, Destiny McCrimmon, Ashton McCrimmon and Aubrey McCrimmon; great-grandchildren: Jaxon Paulk, Jude Paulk, Sidney Rae Barnes and one on the way; siblings: Charles Richard McCrimmon of Brookfield, William Henry McCrimmon of Baxley, Johnny McCrimmon of Fleming Island, Florida, Jessie McCrimmon & Kelli of Ocilla and Nellie Lott of Ocilla. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Phyllis Dixon and Mary Dunbar Clowers and the mother of his children, Elaine Livingston McCrimmon.
