Vivian Hemphill Womack, 87, of Chula passed away Friday, October 9, 2020, at her residence. A graveside funeral service will be held for Mrs. Womack at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at Oak Ridge Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest. Mrs. Womack’s brother-in-law, Emmett Womack, will offer a eulogy.
Mrs. Womack’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Born November 13, 1932 in Tifton, Mrs. Womack was the daughter of the late Robert Hemphill and Bessie Ragan Hemphill. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lemmie Nicholas Womack; one son, Coy Robert Womack; two daughters, Carol Elaine Womack and Connie Womack Johnson; two brothers, J. C. Hemphill and Willie Hemphill; and four sisters, Janie Brady, JoLee Bridwell, Mattie Lou Hansen and Dora Wheeler. She was a homemaker and, before retiring, had worked at the First Baptist Church of Tifton Daycare and the Potter’s House. She loved gardening and loved to sing in church. She was of the Baptist faith and attended Memorial Baptist Church in Moultrie.
Mrs. Womack is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Terry Bryan of Chula; five grandchildren and their spouses, Billy and Jamie Bryan, Bo and Kristin Bryan, Becky Bryan, Doug Drawdy and Maria and Shane Miley; and two great-grandchildren, Layla Bryan and Ty Bryan.
