Eneida M. Cartagena Burgos
Born on April 6, 1938, in Orocovis, Puerto Rico. She left her beloved Island in the early 70’s to settle in Brockton, MA. She was married to the late Antonio Cartagena. Eneida passed away on October 10, 2020 surrounded by her loving family at the time of her death.
Eneida M. Cartagena Burgos was a loving daughter of the late Manuel Burgos and Concepcion Collazo. She was blessed with eleven children; the late Milagros Ramos and Luis Casiano. Survived by three sons, Jose Cartagena, Manuel Cartagena and David Cartagena. Also survived by six daughters, Carmen Ortiz, Zaida Cartagena, Rosa Cartagena, Yolanda Cartagena, Maribel Cartagena and Luz Nuñez. She had many brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. Eneida is also survived by twenty-two grandchildren and many great grandchildren, extended family and life long friends.
As a child of God, she was a member of the La Iglesia Del Dios Altisimo restaurando el Caido of Brockton, MA. She was a woman who loved to sing and praise and we would love to honor her with (Psalms 96: 1-4) “Sing a new song to the Lord! Let the whole earth sing to the Lord! Sing to the Lord; Praise his name. Each day proclaim the good news that he saves. Publish the glorious deeds among the nations. Tell everyone about the amazing things he does. Great is the Lord! He is most worthy of praise! He is to be feared above all gods.”
Funeral Services in the Home of Funerarias Multi Culturel, 238 Court Street Brockton Monday October 19th at 10 am. Burial with Horse Drawn Carriage to Melrose Cemetery, 88 N Pearl Street Brockton. Visitation in the Funeral Home Saturday October 17th from 5-8 pm.
