Obituary

Salem: Patricia K. (Charest) MacMillan age 71 of Salem, died suddenly Thursday at her home. Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Hector and Yvonne (Soucy) Charest. She was a graduate of Salem High School Class of ’52, she worked as a cashier for several retail stores including Sears and Salem Radio & TV.
Married in 1959, she and her former husband settled in Andover, and later in Fairport, NY and later still in Medina, OH. Pat returned to Salem in 1982. She was an avid reader from a very early age.
She is survived by a son: Gregg M. MacMillan of Phoenix, AZ, a daughter: Lisa J. (Dettorre) MacMillan Kittredge of Danvers, her former husband: Herbert MacMillan of Ohio, 3 sisters: Carmen Watkins of Norfolk, VA, Lorraine Jalbert of Peabody, Gloria Boulay of Salem, a brother: Donald Charest of Gloucester, 2 grandsons: Derek MacMillan, Weston Taylor MacMillan-Kittredge, 2 granddaughters: Yvonne Kathleen and Charlotte Rose MacMillan-Kittredge, also several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister: Georgette Gadala and a brother: Roland Charest.
Relatives and friends are invited to her memorial mass on Tuesday, March 7, 2006 at 9 am in the Immaculate Conception Church, Hawthorne Blvd., Salem. A committal service will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salem Public Library, 370 Essex St., Salem, MA 01970.
