Estella V. Jenness, 88, of Hanson, MA passed away Monday, October 5, 2020 with family at her side at the home of her daughter, Joanne (Jenness) Bosecker in Pembroke, MA.
Estella was born in Los Angeles, CA on October 15, 1931, the only child of Paul and Martha Guzman. Estella married Marine Sgt. Russell A. “Mike” Jenness, Sr. in 1951 and moved to West Bridgewater, MA.
Estella had worked in manufacturing, most recently with LiteControl of Hanson, from where she retired.
Estella enjoyed cooking and trying gourmet meals, fine wines and working in her garden. She loved traveling across the USA in her RV with her husband Mike, but her greatest enjoyment was spending time at her cottage overlooking Saquish Beach with her family and friends.
Estella was a strong and independent woman with a huge heart. She had a great love of her family who affectionally referred to her as Ma, Grammie or GG (Great Grandmother).
Estella was predeceased by her husband Mike. She is survived by her five children; Rebecca Jenness and her wife Sally Fisher of Rhode Island, Joanne (Jenness) Bosecker and her husband James of Pembroke, MA, Russell “Mike” Jenness, Jr. and his wife Cathy of East Bridgewater, MA, Daniel Jenness and his husband Steve Ferranti of Rhode Island and Burt Jenness and his wife Christine of Middleboro, four grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Saturday October 10 from 1:00-4:00 PM in the Blanchard Funereal Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 at the rotary) Whitman. In keeping with Estella’s wishes a private graveside service will be held for family members at a later date.
