Robert W. Clough, loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and coach passed away peacefully at the age of 85, Saturday, October 3, 2020 at home in Westport, MA while surrounded by his loving family.
Bob was born in Littleton, NH to the late George and Christine (Morrison) Clough. He and Joan (Silva) Clough were married and lived in Fairhaven for 48 years until her death in 2007. Bob and Joan leave behind four children, John and his partner Jamie Bretl of Antigo, WI, Abbie Cregan of Fairhaven and Phoenix, AZ, Chris and his wife Kathy (Richard) of New Bedford, Dan and his wife Jane (Daniel) of Fairhaven, as well as sixteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
In 2015, Bob married Ann Ranahan and welcomed his two stepdaughters, Karen (O’Connell) Kerschbaum and Janey (O’Connell) Kazazian into the family. They then spent the next five years together residing in Westport, MA. Bob and Ann spent a great deal of time watching their beloved Red Sox and Patriots, spending time with family, taking day trips, enjoying the ocean and loving each day they spent together
Bob served in the Massachusetts National Guard and was ordered into active duty in 1961 during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Prior to his retirement in 1994, Bob was employed as a salesman for J.J. Nissen Baking Company for thirty-five years. Bob was a true family man always putting others first. He was a kind and gentle soul who will most certainly be remembered for his radiant smile and thundering handshakes.
His committal service with military honors will be held on Friday October 9, 2020 at 9:30 AM at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
