Sheila Nelson, 59, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Saturday, March 4, 2006, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Monday, March 6, 2006, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Sunday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Nelson was born December 1, 1946, in Tampa, Florida. She was the daughter of the late William L. “Bill” and Ethel Inez Palmer. She grew up in Miami, Florida and graduated in 1965 from Southwest Senior High School in Miami. She moved to Fitzgerald in 1970 from Hialeah, Florida and was a lab technician for Modern Fibers and Shaw Industries. She was of the Baptist Faith and a loving Mother and Grand Mother.
Mrs. Nelson is survived by a daughter: Reba Inez Nelson of Valdosta; a son: Shawn D. Nelson of Fitzgerald; three sisters: Norma Swailes of Omega, Wanda Stanford and Sandra Cobb, both of Fitzgerald; one brother: Kenneth Murrell of Melbourne, Florida; four grandchildren: Valerie Storey, Chris Nelson, Kayla Nelson and Samantha Nelson; step-children: Susie Hollingsworth of Abbeville, Darlene Branam of Irwin County and Michael Nelson of Miami, Florida. She was preceded in death by a son, Kenny Nelson.
