Ann E. (Hickey) McGuirk, a longtime resident of Billerica and formerly of Charlestown, entered into eternal life suddenly at her home in Billerica on Sunday, October 4, 2020. She was 93 years of age.
Ann was born in Boston on June 30, 1927, a daughter of the late Patrick J. Hickey and Mary A. (Lawn) Hickey. She grew up in Charlestown where she was educated throughout the Boston Public School system. Ann worked for Filene's Department Stores for several years in their distribution department. She was an avid veracious reader in her spare time and enjoyed watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune every night. Family was paramount in Ann's life, she enjoyed traveling the country to visit with each one of her children and their families wherever they might be living at the time and she also enjoyed being a snowbird while visiting Texas in the winter months.
Ann is the beloved wife of the late James L. McGuirk. She is the devoted mother of Patty Talbot and her partner Jim Sellers of Billerica, Peggy Cordy and her husband Bob of North Reading, retired Boston Fire Department Lieutenant Jimmy McGuirk and his wife Theresa of Charlestown, Kathy Boyle and her husband Ed of New Boston, New Hampshire, Colleen Golden and her husband Daryl of San Antonio, Texas and Maureen San Cartier and her husband John of Andover. She is the loving Grandmother to 14 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. She is the beloved sister of James Hickey and the late Patricia Yule, Bob Hickey and John Hickey. She is also survived by her many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Ann's Funeral on Thursday, October 8, 2020 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. Her burial will be private. Her visiting hours will be on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 from 3 to 7 P.M. in the funeral home.
