Eleanor P. (Perkins) Grenon, 91, of New Bedford passed away on Monday September 28, 2020 after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Normand P. Grenon.
Born and raised in Fall River, the daughter of the late James and Mary (Roche) Perkins, she lived in New Bedford for most of her life. She and her husband enjoyed spending many winters in Naples, Florida.
She was a communicant of St. Julie Billiart Church.
Mrs. Grenon was formerly employed as a paraprofessional for the New Bedford Public School Department in the Special Needs Department. She later was the librarian at Bishop Stang High School until her retirement in 1994.
She is survived by her children, Carol Wood and her husband Douglas of Marlboro, Anne Sampaio and her husband Bill of Fall River, and Thomas Grenon and his husband William Bunce of Boston; six grandchildren, Leah Chan and her husband Nigel, Geoffrey and Andrew Sampaio, and Michael, Joseph, and David Bunce-Grenon; a great-granddaughter, Nora; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late William, James, and Paul Perkins.
Her Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Thursday October 1, 2020 at 11 AM at St. Julie Billiart Church, North Dartmouth. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday September 30, 2020 from 4-7 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
