Ana M. (Anacleto) Sousa, 64, of New Bedford died September 26, 2020 unexpectedly at St. Luke's Hospital.
She was the wife of the late Carlos M. Sousa.
Born in Fajão de Baixo, St. Michael, Azores, she moved to New Bedford as a young child.
Ana was formerly employed as a seamstress in several local textile mills for many years until her retirement.
She enjoyed cooking, stitching and spending time with her grandchildren. She loved to dance and laugh. She also cared for all who entered her home and made sure those who entered left as friends.
Survivors include her 2 children, Veronica Hawes and Carlos Sousa, both of New Bedford; and 6 grandchildren, William Hawes IV, Alycia Hawes, Kaidyn Lovell-Sousa, Gavyn Sousa, Azayah Sousa, and Skyla Sousa.
She was the sister of the late Joe Anacleto.
Her Funeral will be held on Monday, October 5th at 9 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by her Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:30 AM. Burial will be in Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Sunday, October 4th from 4-8 PM.
