Frank M. Cunningham, 64, of Raymond, NH formerly of Derry, NH died at his residence Sunday September 27, 2020 after a courageous battle with cancer. Frank was born January 1, 1956 in Lawrence, MA and was a son of the late Frank and Gertrude (Trombly) Cunningham. He was raised and educated in N. Andover, MA and was a graduate of N. Andover High School class of 1974. He also attended the Maine Maritime Academy and Framingham State College. Frank was a longtime resident of Derry, prior to relocating to Raymond, 3 yrs. Ago.
Frank was an officer with the Derry Police Department for 20 years, where he had the distinction of being the first School Resource Officer at Pinkerton Academy. He had been serving as the Director of Security at Pinkerton, for the past 13 years. He had previously owned and operated a Texaco Gas station in Manchester, NH. He enjoyed fishing, boating and his beloved dogs. Frank will be forever remembered for his dry wit and great sense of humor and will be dearly missed by those who knew him.
Members of the family include his wife of 36 years, Sheryl (DeBlois) Cunningham, his daughter and her husband Kellie and John Murphy, his brother, Paul Cunningham, two sisters, Carol Cunningham and Jane Cunningham Otis, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
After cremation, a walk-through wake with masks, social distancing and limited interaction with the family, took place on Thursday October 1, 2020 from 4 to 7 pm at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street Derry. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10:00 am on Friday at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 26 Crystal Avenue in Derry. Burial followed in Forest Hill Cemetery of E. Derry.
