Wareham - Armand Soares Amaral, died Friday, March 3, 2006 at Forset View Nursing Home in Wareham, MA. He was the husband of Barbra (Perry) Amaral. He was the father of Mark Amaral of Swansea and Kimberly Amaral of Bourne, MA. Mr. Amaral was the brother of Dolores Stucker of Antioch, CA and Kenneth Amaral of Louisville, KY. He also leaves behind one grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Amaral was the son of the late Fortunado and Adozinda (Ferraz) Amaral. He was born in New Bedford and has lived in this area all of his life. He was an master technician in the floor covering trade. He also worked at the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. after he was discharged from the U.S. Marine Corps. Mr. Amaral was a former member of the American – Portuguese War Veterans of New Bedford. He was very active in his younger years playing ball for the Mt. Carmel CYO. He played football for the New Bedford Hoboes. He was an avid Red Sox fan and a great golfer and dancer.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 6, 2006 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church at 12 P.M. Burial will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, Mass. at 2:30 P.M. Visiting hours will be Monday morning, March 6, 2006 at 11 A.M.In lieu of Flowers a Memorial donations may be made to Allegiance Hospice P.O. Box 752 Sagamore, Ma. 02561
