Obituary

E. Wayman Revels, 75, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Friday, September 25, 2020, at Palemon Gaskins Memorial Nursing Home in Ocilla.

Graveside services will be held 2 PM, Sunday, September 27, 2020, at Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald. The family will greet friends at the graveside one hour prior to the service.

Mr. Revels was born February 6, 1945, in Irwin County, Georgia, to the late Roy & Winnie Solomon Revels. He was a 1964 graduate of Fitzgerald High School. He worked as a heavy equipment operator and loved to clear land and plant pine trees. He enjoyed being outdoors in the woods and was an avid fisherman. He cherished spending time with his family and liked watching rodeo, even teaching his son to barrel race. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene.

He is survived by his children and their spouses: Jonathan Wayman Revels & Miranda of Rockledge, Patricia Revels Ellington & Tim of Cleveland, Tennessee, and Kim Revels Herlovich & Tony of Fitzgerald; grandchildren: Kimberly Chaney & Wade, Amie Durham & Brad, Amber Smith & Matt Skinner, Aaron Cameron & Allison, Andy Cameron & Kaitlin, Triston Revels, Ashton Drew Bridges-Revels, Davis Elizabella Revels, and Addison Mobley; great-grandchildren: Abbie Ellington, Ahlivia Markham, Anna Markham, Kaleb Helms Chaney, Maddie Chaney, Faith Chaney, Carrie Durham, Westin Cameron, Kohen Cameron, and Adaline Cameron; and a sister, Janice Sumner & Walt of Fitzgerald. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Ellen Davis Revels; and three brothers: Edward Revels, Russell Revels, and Cecil Revels.
