Emma Sue Haney, 76, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Wednesday, September 23, 2020, at Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Saturday, September 26, 2020, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, with Minister Gregg Gunby officiating. Interment will follow at Lax Cemetery in Coffee County, Georgia. The family will receive friends Friday evening, from 6 PM until 8 PM, at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Haney was born March 31, 1944, in Ben Hill County, Georgia, to the late Jim & Ethel Joiner Harrell. She was a homemaker for most of her life. She enjoyed making hand crafts and woodworking. Mrs. Haney was an avid fisherman and was always willing to help others in need. She helped to raise many of her grandchildren and other neighbor children as well.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Wayne Haney of Fitzgerald; children: Linda & Eddie Hagerman of Fitzgerald, Jimmy & Liz Haney of Fitzgerald, and Bonnie Jowers of Ohio; grandchildren: Regina Mathis, James Bowman, Jr. & Danielle, Terry Jowers & Michelle, Gary Jowers & Amanda, Joel Jowers, Casey Jowers, Khrystalyn Hagerman, and Kirstie Jowers; and great-grandchildren: Kaylob, TiKiya, Kaycee, Lorelei, Hadley, Khrysee, Magnum, Lakota, Shyena, Madison, Tyler, Leland, Ayla, Sean, Hannah, William, Stormie, Summer, Logan, Cannon, and Bentley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Jimmy Lee Bowman; two brothers: Clifford Harrell and an infant brother; and two sisters: Mary Ann Byce and Clara Ruth Harrell.
