Robert Luiz, 78, of New Bedford, passed away Sunday, September 20, 2020 at St. Luke’s hospital. He was the husband of Myrtle Linda (Haskell) Luiz.
Born in New Bedford, he was the son of the late Mary (Cameron) Luiz. Prior to retirement, he was a mechanic for Aerovox. Mr. Luiz enjoyed watching TV and old movies. He also loved spending time with his cats.
Including his wife, survivors include: a daughter Kelly L. Luiz, a son David Florent, a granddaughter Cheryl A. Wasilowski, a sister Tina Luiz, a brother George Luiz, and several nieces and nephews.
He was the father of the late Mary J. Luiz, and the brother of the late Raymond Luiz 1971, Adolph Luiz 1932, Delores (Luiz) Correia 1933, Florence (Luiz) Silva 1935, Joseph Luiz III 1936, Ernest Luiz 1937, Emily Luiz 1938, Diane (Luiz) Hasson 1945 and Dennis Luiz.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, October 1, 2020, from 6:00-7:00 P.M. at the Kirby Funeral Home followed immediately by a memorial service at 7:00 P.M.
