Gail Robinette (Emery) Pratt, age 85, of Bridgewater died Saturday, September 19, 2020 at Bridgewater Nursing Home following a period of failing health. Gail was the wife of the late Ernest Thurston “Pinky” Pratt, Jr. Born in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late Richard E. and Barbara R. (Carey) Emery.
Gail was raised and educated in Brockton and was a graduate of Brockton High School. After completing her nursing training at the Brockton Hospital School of Nursing, she obtained her certification as an LPN and began working at the Pondville Cancer Hospital in Walpole, MA. It was her work as a nurse at the Pondville Hospital that would become one of her proudest and most profound life experiences. She also appreciated the housing market and worked as a realtor for Mayflower Realty in Taunton, MA. Gail was a strong and tenacious advocate for those she loved and for others who were overlooked or in need of help.
Gail was the loving mother of Ernest Thurston “Chip” Pratt, III of Bourne, Robyn Belcher of Bourne, Eric Pratt and his wife Jill of Tallahassee, FL, Ryon Pratt and his wife Maureen of East Bridgewater and Rachel Soucy and her husband Arthur of Taunton. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and a sister Joyce DePasqua of Sandwich, MA.
She will be dearly missed by her family and her loved ones.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Friday, September 25, 4-7pm. A Graveside Service will be held at Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater, Saturday at 11am. Donations in Gail’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 3 Speen Street, Ste 250, Framingham, MA 01701.
