Deborah Marie (Greathouse) Sleboda, a certified medical assistant, and homemaker died unexpectedly on September 13, 2020 in her home at the age of 49. She was born to Charles R, and Florence E. (Perkins) Greathouse in Rockford Ill. The family moved to Greenville RI when Deb was 1 year old, essentially making her a lifelong resident of Smithfield.
She graduated from Davies Vocational Technical High School in 1989. She then graduated from Hall Institute, majoring in CAD/ Interior Design and Drafting, later attending Lincoln Technical Institute, graduating as Certified Medical Assistant.
A huge Bon Jovi fan, Deb was a loving and devoted wife, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and mother to her three Yorkie terriers. An avid wrestling fan, she enjoyed movies, hockey games, and attending all types of auto racing events with her husband Chet. She loved visiting Beaver Tail lighthouse, exploring the historic forts on the bay, and finding new places on Jamestown and Newport.
She is survived by her loving husband of 21 years Chester Sleboda III, brother Mike Greathouse, his wife Jeannette and their three children Michael, Sara and Kelly, with a large extended family primarily in Virginia and Kentucky, mother in-law Alice C. Sleboda, brothers-in-law Michael, David, Richard and his wife Debbie, Daniel and his wife Susan and Jimmy and his wife Barbra Sleboda, and many nieces and nephews
She was predeceased by her parents Charlie and Florence Greathouse, her daughter Emily Marie Sleboda and father-in-law Chester Sleboda Jr.
Private services for family were arranged by Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Rt 44, Greenville, RI. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Deb’s name to the RI SPCA, 186 Amaral St, Riverside, RI 02915
