Diane M. Hayes, age 65, of Medford passed away on Monday, September 14, at Glen Ridge Nursing Care of Medford. Born in Cambridge, she was raised and educated in Medford, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Rosemary (Sullivan) Ebbs.
Diane worked in the legal field for her entire career. She loved to travel to different locations throughout New England and go shopping with her sisters. She fought a long battle with a rare form of dementia, but it never took away her kind, loving personality.
Diane was the devoted mother of Chris Hayes and his wife Lacey of Loudon, New Hampshire, and Brian Hayes and his wife Kelley of Medford. She was the loving grandmother of Moriah, Jackson and Madison Hayes, and the dear sister of Richard Ebbs and his wife Lori of Medfield, Laura Ossino of Medford and her late husband Phil, Dennis Ebbs of New Hampshire, JoAnn Ebbs of Reading, and Larry Ebbs and his wife Cathy of Lowell. Diane is also survived by her former husband George Hayes of Everett, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Tuesday September 22nd at 9 AM, followed by a funeral mass celebrated in the Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family Monday from 3 to 6 PM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. All attending must wear face masks and adhere to social distancing protocol. In lieu of flowers contributions may be sent in Diane's name to the Alzheimer's Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Rd., Waltham, MA 02452.
A celebration of Diane's life will also be celebrated with a memorial mass in a year's time.
