Barbara Gleaton Acree, 68, of Atlanta passed away September 10, 2020 at her home in Atlanta.
A private family funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2020, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with Dr. Clark Harden officiating.
Barbara was born October 31, 1951 in Tifton and was the daughter of the late J.P. and Allene Gleaton. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Betty Chloe Gleaton Metzger.
Barbara lived most her life in Atlanta, where she owned and operated Body, Mind and Spirit Spa for several years. She was also a certified twelve-step counselor.
Barbara was a graduate of Tift County High School in 1969 and enjoyed playing the piano and singing. She also loved her animals, cats and dogs along with any stray that showed up at her doorstep.
She is survived by her husband of 16 years, William D. Acree, Jr. and sister, Beverly Gleaton Sterling and husband, Danny E. Sterling of Tifton, GA; one brother-in-law, Ray Metzger, Jr of Tifton; and several nieces and nephews.
