NEW BEDFORD… Michael J. Desrosiers, 58 of New Bedford, passed away unexpectedly on August 26, 2020.
Mr. Desrosiers was born in Fall River, son of Joan (Picard) Desrosiers Mercier of Dartmouth and the late Joseph A. Desrosiers.
Mr. Desrosiers (better known as “Mike” to his family and friends) resided in New Bedford most of his life as well as Fall River.
He was a communicant of Our Lady’s Chapel in New Bedford and was a graduate of New Bedford High School.
Mike was employed as a Landscaper who took great pride and enjoyment in his work. He also did some volunteer work in the City of New Bedford.
Mike was an avid storyteller who enjoyed reminiscing about his past adventures as he shared his story. The description was so precise that you felt like you were there laughing with him. His eyes would light up, he would have the biggest smile and chuckle as he would end his story by saying “Those were the good times. I would love to do that again.”.
Mike also loved the outdoors, relaxing by the campfire in anticipation of basking in the sun while enjoying his day out on the boat fishing for his trophy fish while listening to music. He also enjoyed relaxing by the ocean, making it the perfect way to end the day.
On many occasions, you could find Mike working in his garden, one of which he was very proud.
His life revolved around his family. He always spoke of them with a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eye as a proud father would.
