Richard J. “Rick” Selfridge, 73, of Hampstead, NH, passed away at his home due to natural causes on Wednesday September 8, 2020. He was born on June 7, 1947 in Lowell, MA, a son of the late Joseph and Doris (Trepanier) Selfridge. Rick proudly served his country in the US Navy during Vietnam. He graduated from Lowell University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Rick was an avid sportsman and won many trophies and championships in water skiing, coaching youth baseball, and adult softball.
He is survived by his beloved wife Susan M. (Garvin) Selfridge, four children, Derek Selfridge and Karen, Aaron M. Selfridge and his wife Marcia, Cyndi Fisher and her husband Rick, Peter Lincoln and his wife Shelly, eight grandchildren, Derek Selfridge Jr., Cameron Mancera, Evan and Vivian Selfridge, Kyle Fisher, Kaitlyn Risoni, Nolan and Maya Lincoln; one great grandchild, Serena Selfridge and one more due in December, one sister, Joanne Kinnear and her husband Scott, as well as many nieces and nephews, and his Sunday football crew.
He is also survived by the many people that had the honor of meeting such a wonderful person. Richard should be remembered as “Bumpa to all”.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 from 6 – 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Road, Londonderry. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday September 16, 2020 at 10:00am at the NH State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Hwy., Boscawen, NH. Due to State of NH guidelines, all guests are required to wear masks and encouraged to social distance.
