Obituary

WORCESTER-James E. Kelley, 91, of 39 Woodland Street died Wednesday, March 1st in Noble Hospital in Westfield. He leaves 3 sons, Howard P. Kelley of Westfield, Mark E. Kelley of Nashua and James E. Kelley, Jr. of Leicester, a brother Fred Kelley of Shrewsbury, 2 sisters Ruth Bottom of Auburn and Doris Horgan of Shrewsbury, and a grandson Shawn Kelley of Boston. His former wife Christa (Schildgen) Kelley predeceased him.

He was born in Pawtucket, RI the son of Manley and Mabel(Bowers) Kelley. Mr. Kelley served with the Army during World War II as a recruiter. He had been employed by the John Hancock Insurance Company as an agent for many years, retiring in 1985. Mr. Kelley was an accomplished singer and was a member of the Worcester County Light Opera and the Auburn Swingers.

The funeral is Saturday, March 4th with a service at 10:00 AM in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. A calling hour will be held from 9:00 AM until the time of the funeral on Saturday. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of ones choice.
