Obituary


John E. Mehr passed away suddenly at the Massachusetts General Hospital on Saturday. He was 73. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late John Jacob Mehr and Dorothy (Crocker) Mehr. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War. After his honorable discharge, he enjoyed a long career as a commodities broker and lived in the Boston area, where he raised his sons. He was very devoted to his family and immensely proud of his sons. John was a wonderful and caring person who was known for his generosity and willingness to support his friends, no matter what the circumstances.

John was the beloved partner for the past 14 years of Eileen Cascio. He was a devoted father to his sons: John Alexander Mehr of Lynnfield and Staff Sgt. Joseph Peter Mehr, US Army, presently stationed in Colorado. John was a dear brother to Dorothy Morris of Pearl River, NY and Linda Wyckoff of Kent, WA. He leaves his precious dog, Maggie and is also survived by his former wives Mariann Screnci and Linda Taverna.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit on Sunday, September 13 from 1 - 4 PM at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford concluding with a prayer service at 4PM.

Burial with military honors will be at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Connery Ave., Bourne on Monday, September 14th at 1PM.
