Ruth E. Smith, age 56, a lifelong resident of Medford, passed away on September 8, 2020. She was the beloved daughter of the late Richard J. and Zoa G. (Greenwood) Smith.
Ruth was born, raised and educated in Medford, and she attended Bunker Hill Community College. Known as a hard worker, Ms. Smith held various positions throughout the Medford community. Her family was her first priority, and she was a dedicated caregiver to her parents. As a life coach/life provider, her support was essential during and at the end of their lives. Her commitment to them was her life’s work, and her family spoke highly of her dependable and unwaivering devotion to them. In her spare time, Ruth was an avid Red Sox fan.
Ms. Smith is survived by her brothers Robert J. Greenwood of Medford, Richard E. Smith of Arlington and was predeceased by a brother Ralph E. Smith. She will also be missed and lovingly remembered by several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a Graveside Service at Oak Grove Cemetery, 230 Playstead Road, Medford, on Wednesday, September 16 @ 11AM , and are asked to meet at the main cemetery gate, wear masks, and adhere to social distancing precautions.
