Mr. Louis Duain Vaughn, 84, a lifelong resident of Medford, died at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford on Friday, February 24, 2006. He was the beloved husband of Veronica (Bertelsen) Vaughn of Medford, with whom he enjoyed more than 59 years of marriage.
He was born in Medford, Massachusetts, December 8, 1921 a son of the late Emanual H. and Julia (Lacey) Vaughn. Mr. Vaughn was a WWII Army veteran, enlisting at Boston, Massachusetts, on November 21, 1942, until being honorably discharged from Ft. Devens on January 21, 1946. During his service, Mr. Vaughn attained the rank of Sergeant. After leaving the military, Mr. Vaughn worked as a salesman for RCA, Motorola and Philco Ford. Finally, Mr. Vaughn was employed as a furniture salesman.
Besides his beloved wife, Veronica, Mr. Vaughn will be sorely missed by his loving daughters; Judith and her husband Douglas Pierce of Medford and Jean and her husband Mark Siegal of Derry, New Hampshire, grandchildren; Bonnie Pierce-Pham, Jonathan Siegal, Mindy Pierce, Jessica Siegal and Jenelle Siegal and great-granddaughter; Olivia Pham. Mr. Vaughn was also the brother of the late Raymond Vaughn and Marjorie Stewart.
His funeral service was celebrated in the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, Tuesday, February 28, 2006 at 10 AM. Many relatives and friends attended. Visiting hours were Monday, February 27, 2006, from 2 to 4 & 7to 9 PM. Interment was in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
