WORCESTER___Margarita (Pena) Fontanez, 83, of Worcester passed away on Sunday September 6, 2020. She was predeceased by her husband, Miguel Fontanez.
Margarita is survived by a daughter, Victoria Johnson of Worcester and a son, Miguel Fontanez of Worcester; two sisters, Iris Pena and Ita Pena, 20 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Margarita was also predeceased by two daughters, Rosa Corchado and Luz Amaro and by a son, David Fontanez. Margarita was born in Humacao, Puerto Rico, a daughter of the late Flor and Victoria (Guevara) Pena. Margarita has lived in Worcester for 45 years. Margarita enjoyed watching Family Feud and listening to music and loved going out for a lobster dinner.
Calling hours in the funeral home following current limitations for capacity, distancing and facemasks are on Thursday September 10, 2020 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. The funeral will be held at 11:00 A.M. on
Friday September 11, 2020 in HENRY – DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward Street. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery.
