Obituary

Scarborough – Patricia Jean (Cook) “Pat” Dubay, age 84, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 3rd, 2020. She endured many health issues for a long time but kept a smile on her face for family and friends and a strength to be among them. We are greatly missing her now. She loved us all so well.

Pat was born in Portland, Maine on September 1st, 1936, to Fred and Lillian Cook, and graduated from Deering High School in 1954; then married her high school sweetheart, Ronald “Ron” Dubay, on October 11th, 1954. Pat worked for the Bell Company doing Comptometer work, then continued it from home while raising her five children. She later worked at Kaler-Vaill, caring for the elderly. Pat loved to cook, sew, garden, go on traveling adventures with the family, teach in Sunday School and attend church functions.

She leaves behind her beloved husband Ron, Her older sister and best friend, Blanche (Cook) & her husband, James “Jim” Mays of North Yarmouth, Maine

Her great niece, Sarah Stewart and great nephew, Stephen Stewart
She is predeceased by her mother, Lillian (Whittier) Cook and her father, Frederick “Fred” Cook

Her bedroom on the night of her passing was filled with the presence of the light of God’s love and with the peace of our loving Savior. Pat’s husband, Ron, and her family were present with her that evening. There were songs and hymns sung to the glory of God: Mom’s favorite Christmas carol, “Silent Night” as well as “Amazing Grace” along with Dad’s favorite song, “Love is a Flag Flown High.” Then the song “I’ll Fly Away” was sung. It was a bittersweet moment when Dad tucked her in and kissed her forehead, while her children gathered around her bed. Angels took Mom to be in the arms of Jesus, where she is praising God and rejoicing and in no more pain or suffering.

We truly will miss you. But thank you for all the love and life you’ve poured into your family. We love you so very much. We are so happy that you are out of pain and dancing with Jesus! We look forward to seeing you again!

“Well done, good and faithful servant … enter thou into the joy of the Lord”
Mt. 25:21, 23
