Barbara Elizabeth Christie, 92, of Derry, NH, passed away Saturday, September 5, 2020. Born in Boston, MA on October 9, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Henry Katon and Margaret (Fisher) Stahl. Barbara was employed for many years for Delta Airlines at Logan Airport in Boston. After retiring from Delta, Barbara kept busy as a real estate sales agent in the Derry area and then worked with Garber Travel Agency in Bedford, NH.
Survivors include daughter Roberta M Guertin and her husband Leon, with whom she made her home, a son Msgr. James Halley of Los Angeles, CA; a daughter Donna M. Renkert and her husband Michael of Plymouth NH, 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert L. Stahl and his wife Cheryl of Phoenix, AZ and several nieces and nephews.
Barbara is predeceased by her husband John E. Christie; son, John E. Christie, Jr; sister, Marilyn M. Anderson. two granddaughters and one great grandson.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2020 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the Peabody Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by her son, Msgr. James Halley on Friday at 10:00 am in St. Jude Parish, 435 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry, NH. The burial will be in Saint Mary of the Annunciation Cemetery, 155 Hobart Street, Danvers, MA.
