Richard P. Moran, 71, of Derry, NH died Tuesday, February 28, 2006 in his home. Mr. Moran was born in Everett, MA on May 17, 1934, a son of the late George B. and Mary Catherine (Carroll) Moran. Mr. Moran was raised in East Boston, MA and Chelsea, MA and worked for the Revere Housing Authority until his retirement in 1996. He has lived in Derry for the past two years. Mr. Moran served in the US Army during the Korean War. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a true outdoorsman.
Mr. Moran is survived by his wife of 46 years, Carol L. (Collins) Moran, of Derry; his four sons: Michael R. Moran, Thomas P. Moran, Daniel J. Moran all of Derry, and Robert S. Moran of Exeter, NH; his daughter, Nancy J. Curtin of Salem, MA; eight grandchildren; his mother of Chelsea, MA, his brother, George Moran of Maine; and his two sisters: Linda Clerico of Chelsea, MA and Grace Cause of Wenham, MA.
Calling hours were on Friday, March 3rd from 6-8 PM in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday, March 4th at 10:00 AM at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Crystal Avenue, Derry. Burial followed in the Forest Hill Cemetery, East Derry.
