Robert J. Kelley – Bob “Tiffy” Kelley of Canton passed away September 2nd at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston after suffering from every complication imaginable following a recent stroke. Beloved husband of Pamela (Poltorak) Kelley of Canton. Devoted father and best friend to Robin Kelley of Dorchester. Prisoner of Bella, the cat. Amazing uncle and second father to many. He is predeceased by his parents, James Kelley and Florence (Segee) Kelley; siblings James Kelley, John Kelley, and Florence Worster; and several nieces and nephews.
Bob was born in Boston and raised in Jamaica Plain. He graduated from Boston Trade High School and went on to serve in the United States Army at the end of the Korean War. He worked as a Sheet Metal Worker for Francer Industries in Weymouth for 50 years before retiring. After he retired, he worked as a driver for Enterprise Rent a Car for 10 years, and then as a faux Uber driver exclusively for his wife. He has lived in Canton for the last 39 years. Passions include track and field, sports in general, (especially the Celtics and Patriots,) discussing the weather, big band swing and jazz, traveling, the TV clicker, eating dinner at the bar, and spoiling his family.
Visiting hours are at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home located at 455 Washington St. Canton on Tuesday September 8th from 4-7 pm. Due to the Current Covid 19 restrictions only 25 guests are allowed in the funeral home at a time, masks are required, and guests should bring their own pens to sign the register book. Funeral Mass at St. Gerard Majella Church, Canton Wednesday morning at 10:00 followed by a very socially distant celebration of his life. Burial private. Veteran United States Army. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Dr. Whitfield Growdon, Development Office, 125 Nashua St., Suite 540, Boston, MA 02114 to benefit ovarian cancer research.
