Gelene Reaves Spradlin, 85, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Thursday, September 3, 2020, at her residence.
Graveside services will be held 11 AM, Saturday, September 5, 2020, at Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald, Georgia, with the Rev. Dr. Brent Duncan officiating. Susie Mason will give the eulogy and Chase Williamson will give the final prayer. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Friday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Spradlin was born August 14, 1935, in Randolph County, Alabama, to the late Thomas Damon & Vera Levens Reaves. Following the death of her mother, she was raised by her step-mother, Eula Spradlin Reaves Smith. She was a homemaker and dearly loved children. She helped to raise many of her family and loved her family very much. She was a member of Westside Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughters: Rita Wolfe and Shelia King, both of Fitzgerald; grandchildren: Micah Wolfe, Mathew & Karen Wolfe, and Josh King; great-grandchildren: Weston Wiley and Lynk Wolfe; sisters and brothers: Virginia Wright of Ocilla, Betty Spradlin of Fitzgerald, Ray Reaves of Waynesville, Glenda Giddens of Ocilla, Vicky Branam & Jimmy of Brunswick, and Gene Reaves of Ocilla; and two sisters-in-law, Dolores Wiggins of Fitzgerald and Rhomelle Reaves of Fitzgerald. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Spradlin; a son, Robbie King; and three brothers: Clarence L. “Bud” Reaves, Joe Wiggins, and William D. “Buck” Reaves.
