Bridget “Betty” (Doyle) Slosek, age 89, passed away peacefully on Sept. 1, 2020 at Baystate Medical Center. She was born on Feb. 1, 1931 in Ireland, a daughter of the late Michael and Margaret (Gleeson) Doyle. Betty attended school in Ireland and graduated before moving to the United States. She most recently worked as a manager for a gas station for many years before she retired. She was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Parish in Springfield. Betty is predeceased by her beloved husband John P. Slosek Sr., who passed away July 1, 2019. She is survived by two sons, John P. Slosek Jr., and his wife Joanne of Springfield and Michael Slosek of Indian Orchard; two brothers, Tony Doyle of Ireland and Patrick Doyle and his wife Claire of Springfield; one sister, Margaret Slattery of Ireland; two beloved grandchildren, Rachel Slosek-Couture and her husband Matthew and John P. Slosek III of Springfield; two great grandchildren, Grant and Remy, her sister-in-law Adela Andre of Wilbraham; her best friend Anne Begely and her daughters and family from FL, who called her every day for decades, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family who will miss her. Betty loved all animals, but especially her dog Mushroom and cat Fluffy who will miss her dearly. She is predeceased by her brothers Christopher, Thomas, Michael, Edward, Shean and Francis Doyle and by her sisters Mary Hehir and Christine Bamber. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the family will have private services at a later date. The Grise Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
