Kyra T. Matthews, 45, of New Bedford died Thursday, August 27, 2020 unexpectedly at Rhode Island Hospital.
Born in New Bedford, daughter of Edward B. Monteiro, Jr. and Susan A. (Matthews) DaSilva, she lived in New Bedford for most of her life.
She was a graduate of New Bedford High School and had been employed as a Certified Nursing Assistant for many years.
Kyra enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and listening to music.
She is survived by her parents; her grandmother, Carol Matthews; three children, K-Lee Matthews, Tiara Lamas, and Kyle Lamas; four grandchildren, Jeziah Lamas, En-Vie Lamas, Camryn Guerrero, and Ava Lamas; her brother, Shawn Monteiro; four sisters, Jodi-Lynn Monteiro, Tiffany Monteiro, Jennifer DeBarros, and Ashley Paulette; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
