Barbara Ruth Clifton Williamson, 87, Rochelle, Georgia, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away at her home on Saturday, August 29, 2020.
Graveside services will be held 11 AM, Tuesday, September 1, 2020, at Salem Cemetery in Ben Hill County, with the Rev. Ralph Callaway officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Monday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Williamson was born May 21, 1933, in Crisp County, Georgia, to the late William T. & Clydie Mae Danforth Clifton. She spent most of her life as a homemaker making crafts, cooking, canning, and baking for her family and friends. She also enjoyed being in the yard planting flowers and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She touched many hearts and will be dearly missed and loved by all that knew her. She was a member of Salem Baptist Church for many years where she was secretary of her Sunday school class.
She is survived by son, Clifton Williamson of Rochelle; grandchildren: Wendy Brown Young of Fitzgerald, Shain Williamson (Kristi) Miller of Valdosta, Hailey M. Williamson of Fitzgerald, Laken Rae Cromer of Fitzgerald, and Hunter Andrew Munden of Rochelle; great-grandchildren: Jake Young, Jarrett Young, Shawn Bentley Cromer, Anthony Cromer and Jace Cromer; two sisters: JoAnn (Charles Johnson) Gray of Nashville and Virginia (Tom) Davis of Moultrie; a brother, Raymond (Jeannine) Clifton of Jacksonville, Florida; and a sister-in-law, Sandra Phillips. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 65 years, George Horton Williamson; two daughters: Cynthia Williamson and Connie Williamson Woodard; a great-grandchild, Thomas Tyler Gunter; three brothers: Gene Clifton, George Thomas Clifton, and Dewey Phillips; and two sisters: Bonnie Clifton Dillard and Shirley Clifton West.
