Chicopee – Joanne M. (Cormier) Kenney, age 80, passed away on Aug. 22, 2020. She was born on Aug. 9, 1940 in Springfield, the daughter of the late Felix and Florida (Blanchette) Cormier. Joanne worked at many places including Breck, The Wall Street Journal, Mass Mutual, Hebert's Candies and as a Probation Supervisor with Springfield Juvenile Court. She was an avid stamper and card creator. Joanne loved to play Bingo and organize the casino bus trips for her friends at Christ the King Church in Ludlow. She loved to play cards, and would always win. She also loved to bake, cook, watch the Red Sox, game shows and especially loved being around her friends and family. She is predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Robert Kenney who passed away July 2, 2019. She is survived by her daughter Maureen Kenney of Oregon; her son James Kenney and his wife Sharon of West Springfield; her brother Ernest Cormier and his wife Peg of Agawam along with 2 beloved grandchildren, who were her pride and joy, Lauren and Lindsay Kenney. She also leaves behind many beloved cousins and many close friends. Calling hours will be held on the morning of the funeral, Friday, Aug. 28, 2020 from 9:30 – 11:00 AM at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee followed by a Funeral Home Prayer Service at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
